Xbox 360 Elite is still expensive?

So by now you probably heard that the Xbox 360 and PS 3 prices have been cut. However, the Xbox 360 Elite for example is still $299. That's a lot of money, specially because you need to buy all these other items if you want to watch DVDs in high dev and play games.

But you can go to Auctions4aCause.com and bid on the Xbox 360 Elite which right now shows with a highest bid allowed of no more than $7.48....and the maximum number of bids has been dropped to 71.

So with the money you save you can buy a few games, connection via Xbox live or go out an buy the latest Rockband version!

Can't wait for the PS3 price drop?

Boy, there has been a lot of talk in the press lately about Sony needing to drop their prices on the PS 3 to stay competitive compared to the cheap Nintendo Wii and the Xbox 360. But Sony says they don't consider the Wii a competitor and the Xbox 360 doesn't have BlueRay build in and charges extra for Xbox live so when you add those costs to it, the Playstation 3 is supposedly a better long term purchase.

Hard to argue with the hard numbers, even if you are not a math genius. But if you don't care for the BlueRay and maybe only buy the Xbox live with a discount, the Xbox 360 might be a better value after all.

But if you don't care to wait for the PS3 sale price, how about you head over to Auctions4aCause.com and try your hand at getting one for 50% of retail, or even lower. And you can feel good about your participation in this site as charities get a part of the net proceeds.
